We obtained results for Utah Statewide: Total by compiling and jointly analyzing data from 42 strata.
Field technicians completed 266 of 287 planned surveys (93%) in 2024. Technicians conducted 2995 point counts within the 266 surveyed grid cells between April 28 and July 14. They detected 182 bird species, including 10 priority species.
Bird Conservancy estimated densities (birds per square kilometer) for 220 species that were detected in any year during which surveys were conducted, 15 of which are priority species. The data yielded robust density estimates (CV < 50%) for 101 species.
Bird Conservancy estimated the proportion of occupied plots throughout Utah Statewide: Total for 220 species that were detected in any year during which surveys were conducted, 15 of which are priority species. The data yielded robust occupancy estimates (CV < 50%) for 111 species.
22.2 All Other Lands in Utah
All Other Lands in Utah
We obtained results for All Other Lands in Utah by compiling and jointly analyzing data from four strata.
Field technicians completed 89 of 104 planned surveys (86%) in 2024. Technicians conducted 1089 point counts within the 89 surveyed grid cells between May 7 and July 8. They detected 157 bird species, including 7 priority species.
Bird Conservancy estimated densities (birds per square kilometer) for 199 species that were detected in any year during which surveys were conducted, 12 of which are priority species. The data yielded robust density estimates (CV < 50%) for 61 species.
Bird Conservancy estimated the proportion of occupied plots throughout All Other Lands in Utah for 199 species that were detected in any year during which surveys were conducted, 12 of which are priority species. The data yielded robust occupancy estimates (CV < 50%) for 70 species.

We obtained results for Utah BCR 10: Total by compiling and jointly analyzing data from five strata.
Field technicians completed 14 of 16 planned surveys (88%) in 2024. Technicians conducted 124 point counts within the 14 surveyed grid cells between June 9 and July 11. They detected 74 bird species, including 1 priority species.
Bird Conservancy estimated densities (birds per square kilometer) for 140 species that were detected in any year during which surveys were conducted, 8 of which are priority species. The data yielded robust density estimates (CV < 50%) for 12 species.

Field technicians completed 4 of 5 planned surveys (80%) in 2024. Technicians conducted 34 point counts within the 4 surveyed grid cells between June 17 and June 24. They detected 20 bird species, including 0 priority species.

Field technicians completed 124 of 138 planned surveys (90%) in 2024. Technicians conducted 1306 point counts within the 124 surveyed grid cells between April 28 and July 14. They detected 157 bird species, including 8 priority species.
Bird Conservancy estimated densities (birds per square kilometer) for 197 species that were detected in any year during which surveys were conducted, 11 of which are priority species. The data yielded robust density estimates (CV < 50%) for 86 species.
Bird Conservancy estimated the proportion of occupied plots throughout Utah BCR 16: Total for 196 species that were detected in any year during which surveys were conducted, 11 of which are priority species. The data yielded robust occupancy estimates (CV < 50%) for 92 species.
All Other Lands in Utah BCR 16
We obtained results for All Other Lands in Utah BCR 16 by compiling and analyzing data from one stratum.
Field technicians completed 37 of 49 planned surveys (76%) in 2024. Technicians conducted 436 point counts within the 37 surveyed grid cells between May 9 and July 8. They detected 122 bird species, including 6 priority species.
Bird Conservancy estimated densities (birds per square kilometer) for 167 species that were detected in any year during which surveys were conducted, 9 of which are priority species. The data yielded robust density estimates (CV < 50%) for 38 species.
Bird Conservancy estimated the proportion of occupied plots throughout All Other Lands in Utah BCR 16 for 166 species that were detected in any year during which surveys were conducted, 9 of which are priority species. The data yielded robust occupancy estimates (CV < 50%) for 46 species.

We obtained results for Utah BCR 33: Total by compiling and jointly analyzing data from two strata.
Field technicians completed 16 of 18 planned surveys (89%) in 2024. Technicians conducted 215 point counts within the 16 surveyed grid cells between May 2 and May 20. They detected 78 bird species, including 0 priority species.
Bird Conservancy estimated densities (birds per square kilometer) for 117 species that were detected in any year during which surveys were conducted, 4 of which are priority species. The data yielded robust density estimates (CV < 50%) for 4 species.

All Other Lands in Utah BCR 33
We obtained results for All Other Lands in Utah BCR 33 by compiling and analyzing data from one stratum.
Field technicians completed 13 of 15 planned surveys (87%) in 2024. Technicians conducted 189 point counts within the 13 surveyed grid cells between May 7 and May 20. They detected 76 bird species, including 0 priority species.
Bird Conservancy estimated densities (birds per square kilometer) for 111 species that were detected in any year during which surveys were conducted, 1 of which are priority species. The data yielded robust density estimates (CV < 50%) for 15 species.
Bird Conservancy estimated the proportion of occupied plots throughout All Other Lands in Utah BCR 33 for 114 species that were detected in any year during which surveys were conducted, 1 of which are priority species. The data yielded robust occupancy estimates (CV < 50%) for 14 species.

We obtained results for Utah BCR 9: Total by compiling and jointly analyzing data from 17 strata.
Field technicians completed 112 of 115 planned surveys (97%) in 2024. Technicians conducted 1350 point counts within the 112 surveyed grid cells between April 29 and July 9. They detected 122 bird species, including 4 priority species.
Bird Conservancy estimated densities (birds per square kilometer) for 172 species that were detected in any year during which surveys were conducted, 11 of which are priority species. The data yielded robust density estimates (CV < 50%) for 57 species.
Bird Conservancy estimated the proportion of occupied plots throughout Utah BCR 9: Total for 174 species that were detected in any year during which surveys were conducted, 12 of which are priority species. The data yielded robust occupancy estimates (CV < 50%) for 67 species.
All Other Lands in Utah BCR 9
We obtained results for All Other Lands in Utah BCR 9 by compiling and analyzing data from one stratum.
Field technicians completed all planned surveys (100%) in 2024. Technicians conducted 430 point counts within the 35 surveyed grid cells between May 15 and June 24. They detected 101 bird species, including 3 priority species.
Bird Conservancy estimated densities (birds per square kilometer) for 141 species that were detected in any year during which surveys were conducted, 6 of which are priority species. The data yielded robust density estimates (CV < 50%) for 26 species.
Bird Conservancy estimated the proportion of occupied plots throughout All Other Lands in Utah BCR 9 for 143 species that were detected in any year during which surveys were conducted, 7 of which are priority species. The data yielded robust occupancy estimates (CV < 50%) for 38 species.
